Other than aesthetic, why Deep V's?

i don't understand why people think London's roads are somehow worse than anywhere else in the country. the roads around my parents village are atrocious, the council can't be arsed to repair them because they spend the money in the towns.
I don't see riders having issues with normal rims there.

very good point. the roads here are worse than London roads, i yearn for the ( relatively) smooth tarmac of London.
However, this hasn't made me run out and buy some huge-section hipster rims because my open-pros keep breaking.
