House Music

Fazered - not having a go but what i said about house or techno was a bit tongue in cheek. I seem to remember a big argument about the detroit techno guys at the time about who 'invented' it Juan Atkins/Kevin Saunderson/Jeff Mills.... - and really who gives a flying fuck. Music is music and as the OP noticed it's impossible to say what the best 'house' music is. It just managed to make us white boys dance (and some of it was mad)...

Who gives a flying fuck? Well me obviously. In my opinion it's the last great musical invention. Other than DnB the last pure musical style invented. Techno's reach and influence astounding, everything from commercial, computer games, movies, electronic devices etc. The Belville Three (Four if you include Eddie Fowlkes which is fair) invented a genre still loved today and that influences dance music still while at school! An amazing feat. It is very much a separate genre to house. I have eclectic tastes and love both but they are most certainly different.

PS. Jeff Mills was not involved in creating Techno, you meant Derrick May.
