i grew up in the hardcore scene in the mid 90's. i was more into bands saves the day, sunny day real estate, dead letter auction and orchid than i was into cro mags and earth crisis, so some of the older dudes referred to me as "that emo fag" in a joshing manner. it's just what kids new me as for a long time.
