very nice ride! but riding brakeless with those pedals looks a bit dangerous to be honest ;)
-
• #5455
It's not brakeless.. it's using a coaster brake.
-
• #5456
oh, then it's somehow the perfect cruiser! very nice work!

@ Ed. Dude. That is the most beautiful set up I have seen in forever. I'm slowly putting together something similar in terms of colour, but that is phenomenal. Really beautiful I might go as far to call it the prettiest fixed I've ever seen. The silver and black is perfect. Drool.
@ Trip. That's a beaut! Have fun with it!
Most importantly @ Boon.
What're those forks? I be needing some. -

I swear to fucking god it is impossible to find nice forks that arn't stock. Either that or spend hundreds on aero blades. God.

A nice fork for my charge racer, to compliment the front aerospoke. I like the d2 pista fork above, and the 2005 Langster fork, but pretty much nothing else I've seen. It's driving me mental. Most classic forks are too thin to look nice with the size of the tubing, and I don't want the huge rake they give.
It's probably a fruitless quest, but I have this image in my head of my perfect stealth bomber, and the only 3 things I can quite get right are the saddle, fork and stem. If I could get a straight, flat/aero fork for a quill stem, or even a suggestion for a nice looking ahead, I would be in paradise.Sounds hyperbolic, I know, but it's been really annoying me. My wheels are fine, frame is fine, cranks and cogs are fine. It's just the fucking fork.

those fork are a oval concepts aero track fork rebranded for bianchi.
These.
it's a d2 pista what we get over here in europe. it's a better frame for than the pista concept for actual track racing but it's doesnt get as many cool points for not having an aero seat tube.

no they're not, they changed the forks, they used to be on the entire bike, but not on the frame
-
• #5467
"but not on the frame longer are"
what?
-
• #5468
yeah, apparently they don't come with them anymore, they used to though, and on the frameset. last time i spoke to Pasq they still had the frameset with the oval concepts fork with it.

Flickwg, that's really awesome of you, thanks for putting that together. Those Alpina TT forks are beautiful, but a little pricey. I think the Deda Black Stream forks are pretty perfect for the money, so mad 'speck to VinylVillain for sorting that out. Cheers guys.
Also, forgive me Platini, for I have sinned.

Nothing like a good relationship between your wheel and your fork. ;)

Ahoy. Yet another forum newb (at least spent a few days reading up and learnin to search before rearing my head).
Don't currently own a fixed/ss but got 2 frames in the works one of which may well end up as my fix training bike.
Current rides:
LHT tourer, only been to brighton and back a few times so far, still further than most hipsters. Note HHSB hip flask holster and bottle opener spacer. Wac but handy. Steerer tube left long cos i'm a tree surgeon and my back gets battered on long rides.
'71 Carlton Corsa freebie. Plastic seat and shit bar wrap job fail. Not my fault, will be sorted in due time. Pretty heavy gaspipe frame but good enough for getting about on.Current projects:
Early 50's Dayton, possibly an Elite or Kingfisher(waiting for the word from the VCC) Shit 70's refinish will be returned to its former glory at some point next year. Incidentally happens to be one of the first commercially built TIG welded frames. Extra hipster points for being built in Shoreditch.
This is a possible fixed candidate til i can afford the new paintjob. Was also a freebie.
xmas ebay score(yet to arrive)
60's Pennine Marilyn road frame. This will definitely go fixed as it originally had shitloads of pricey campag kit i can't afford drapped all over it.Both the Dayton and Pennine are supposed to be 5 speeds as well, but that would be retarded so one will go fixed while t'other is restored properly. Will decide which when the Pennine arrives.
Will now STFU and refrain from posting any more pics til i buy a real camera/show progress on the builds.
Camera phone fail.
