Lacing 36h rims onto 48h hubs??

Posted on
  • I'm guessing most will say its not worth it...weak wheel..etc..

But due to the fact I need a wheel and i'm skint and i have an old 48 hole hub and a 36 hole rim.

    (plus curiosity)

I tried to use my feeble brain to work it out (3 cross)..

    3 spokes miss a hole?

    slightly longer spokes?

anyone done this or know how to do it?

  • Sounds like a logistical nightmare to build - if you are that hard up Ive got a shimano rear cassette hub you can have for the cost of the postage if that any use!

  • I think a have a 36h old rear normandy I will not mind to swap for the 48h

what hub it is? front or rear?

  • cheers for the offers..but i need a front..the one I have is an old front BMX hub (primo), but it will do the job for what i need

  • 32h front normandy?

  • i have a whole front wheel, dont know what hub, but its on a mavic ma2 rim, you can have the whole front wheel for the price of postage!
