Sprint training

  • Anyone know of any good deserted roads etc.. (apart from Richmond Park) that are good for sprint and standing start training? I live in the far far east at the moment and discovered this area.

Should be good. I've gotta go down and check it out tho.

  • Used to do standing starts in Dulwich park.

  • Are there any industrial estates around your way? The ones in Oz were great for this kind of thing.
In fact, most of the crits were run on industrial estate roads.

  • I was thinking about industrial estates for this the other day, especially at night or weekends.

if you do get down to Richmond, Mr B, we'll get some standing starts going in a few weeks

  • Carparks too, if you can find a big enough, flat enough, empty enough one.
Most shit in London seems to be 7-days a week trading though which makes it a bit tricky.

  • I use Greenwich Park - it has a flat section at the top and a hill. I use the hill to bust me lungs and the flat part for starts and spinning. However, won't be starting dedicated sprint training for another couple of weeks.
