Ah-ha. No, the person who corrected me insisted that 'brewing tea' should be 'stewing tea'. Consensus opinion seems to be that 'brewing tea' is something different from 'stewing tea' and that stewed tea exists but isn't as drinkable as brewed tea. Thanks.
