and I'd still love an 80's PK Ripper. But a 40 year old riding a BMX just can't be done...

SE racing is just a fuji with a few changes and a se racing decal.
se racing was brought by advanced sports inc (basically Fuji bikes) in 02.
the u.s based se-racing stopped making bikes in 1999. -

Give me 2 1/2 years, I'll get back to you, and prove you wrong. Kids these days...pfft!

Okay, you can get away with it if you are very, very good. If average or below then a bit harder to pull it off!
Starting to think about the lovely Drive I had last year, all up weight of 22lbs. Where can I buy another one now...
-

they look nice..
but you're too old for one of those, really

I want one of these to go racing on

am i missing something? why is the freestyler £70 more than the plug?

i thought the components were the same apart from the coloured rims and the bars

Me too, one with flight cranks and Skyway graphites with the gold campag hubs.
I think SE Racing could do something pretty special to the fixed market.

a shrewd move by fuji. buy an ailing brand that has some streetcred but low sales and stick the name on your fixed gear bikes to create a whole new market.

yeah! standard are lovely bmx frames
-

the "new" ie: branded SE bmxs are shiteola.
not a patch on the real ones, they had a frame busting scandal too which makes people trust them even less
-

The floval flyer was the nearest thing to a ripper for grown ups.
I know this isn't the real thing, but it got me excited when I first glimpsed it. I'd 100% buy a Ripper Fixed gear if they ever did it properly. We should get together and get them to make a limited edition SE Ripper Full size frame.... like people do with those limited edition runs of Cinellis. That'd be awesome!
-

are they vintage phil hubs and vintage profile cranks on the floval?
i do like the landing gear forks!
-
• #21
i know the cranks are vintage redline flight cranks
-
• #22
They're not even vintage flight cranks - they're the current twin pinch bolt ones. Not sure what hubs, I thought Bullseye but they mount using allen bolts.
-
• #23
yeah not vintage profile
-
• #24
i do like the landing gear forks!
again, the new ones are shit. heavy and crap
for the last time: the stuff for sale now, branded SE racing has nothing to do with the original company. and it is not very good stuff.

Just had an email back from the brand manager at "SE Racing".... I asked whether they'd ever consider producing a proper ripper fixed gear frame, even on special order and he said "Keep your fingers crossed ‘till early summer…"
Lets hope they don't fuck it up. This could be brilliant.
I know, it's another tedious thread about an OTP bike. However, now that I'm abandoning my self-build and looking for and OTP, I'm looking to see if anyone can give me a brief review of the enticingly cheap SE bikes as listed in GA2G's lovely list of OTPs.
Does it ride OK, does anyone know any stockists, etc?
