Beautifully quite today right until I hit oxford street. It's upsetting to see people queuing to get into topshop as soon as they deem in necessary to open. Don't they realise people only had a day left to buy tat for their loathed ones?

More diversity FTW. What's wrong with riding one of those if you like it?

plus it means less hipsters

Guy called Manuel (I think) on a Bianchi in Grays Inn Road. Stopped at the lights and discussed various cycling shoes. Peter and Dave by prior arrangement at the elephant. Discussed gum wall tyres. Enough excitement for Boxing Day.

@adoubletap - I own a penny. I live in Hackney. I'm guessing one of them might have been me. Not sure what it has come to exactly... I have lots of bikes. Several are fixed. This is one of them. It's a racing penny and I'm currently using London traffic to prepare for this.
@slaytanic1 –The other ‘dickhead’ is the man just back from riding around the world on a penny he built himself. Sure it’s ridiculous, but that's half of it. Not many people actually yell abuse at me. But if someone does, I guess I will know it is you.
-
• #9497
(oh, and I really hope you are appreciating the irony of this….the fact you are calling me 'fucking ridiculous' and deserved of abuse and I am riding the first ever fixed bike. Hilarious.)
(and more..... i never have a slack chain).

Even more ridiculous than you riding your oh so 'cool' 'track' bike with your 'aerodynamic' front wheel on the streets whilst wearing your tight black jeans and leather jacket? more ridiculous than that? surely not?
It takes a proper Dickhead to pass judgement on people he doesn't know simply because of the bike they choose to ride.
I've had every kind of bike around at some point in my life and they all have their benefits, and they're all fun.
They're all bikes and we're all riders...accept it. -

for heaven's sake, penny farthings are wicked.
personally, I think it's the wide variety of riders that make this forum interesting and stop it from becoming an online hipster showboat. We've already lost some valuable members of yore, lets try not to alienate any more.
I love the penny farthing racing at HH, and I enjoyed reading that guys blog (tommy met him in Greenwich and posted up about it) I don't understand why anyone who calls themself a cyclist would diss it, quite frankly.
