Evolving for 2009

Ever since I was a kid the term "trick cyclist" has meant "Psychiatrist".

It's rhyming slang, don't you know.

An attack of apathy will strike the "hipster fixed trick contingent" as a new fad is propogated to the world from a small niché in whatever the coolest city happens to be at the chosen time.

All fixed bikes used for tricks will be sold and the cool communities will move on to whatever it is that has been elected to superceed "the state of now".

Superted will not notice that anything has changed and will continue to do his own thing, regardless of others abandonment.

It can only evolve? into the circus type of riding and that is using a fixed bike to it's advantage. Everything else has already been done on BMX/MTB/Trials bike so it would just be imitating on a more limited bike.
I have always like messing around on BMX and MTB but a road/track orientated frame is just not right for it. Why limit what you can do and then make harder the limited things that can be done?

I think tartan will be huge this season, and the gladiator sandal will be big once again come spring.

Circus style bicycle tricks have been around for 100+ years, they still use a fixed drivetrain nowadays.

i like tricks on fixed. i like watching them being done, i like doing them myself, i like learning new tricks, i like riding my bike to work, on the track, to your mums house... its all good really.
what i dont like is people being pricks and saying things like tricks on a track bike are for loosers (or whatever else these narrow minded people may say). If u cant do tricks and are secretly jealous, or simply have no interest in learing/watching, fine by me, hope you have a great time riding your bike!
oh, and what has doing tricks on fixed got to do with hipster? i bet none of the haters would call superted a hipster, but are happy to call people who might not be as good one - pathetic. stop picking on people because of their likes and dislikes. just get on wit your own shit!
