I bid on those wheels last time - the original winner wanted three weeks to pay up according to the seller. That's why he's relisted them.
I was going to bid again then noticed half way down that the lockring thread is f***ked.
Not really "great condition" then are they? -

Not really "great condition" then are they?Ahem. That detail was missing from first listing. And he got feedback from that sale so the wheels probably got returned after the lockring prob was ID'd.

I'm a newbie and mate of the guy selling the Knight track bike.
It was nice to see that the previous frame owner vouched for its provenance which says a lot for the point of a community.
It does seem a shame that some people want spend a lot of time dissing other people's stuff. Thought it was pretty hilarious that dogsballs was mithering that my friend "had a go at him", which is rich considering he made the first jab!!
I know for a fact that the guy in question is legit and that he put the bike together to take some shots before completely finishing it, so the chain doesn't now have one of those split link nasty things, and the tension is right.
What the fcuk is up with some people?!!

Not really "great condition" then are they? That's a bit shit. "Great condition", "track you're racing/training on"..
Warning to read the fine print!

I like that of "I'm the friend of the guy who is..."

The trackends on the Knight just look so wrong. The previous owner may vouch for them being there when he bought the frame, but I'd bet a fair sum that they were not there when the frame was originally built.
DB is right to point this out. -

Remarkably similar user names, don't ya think? :)

In my shabby, not-to-be-trusted convict scum opinion, those track ends on the Knight look like they were added as an afterthought. They might be original but they don't LOOK original to me.. there's a difference.

Well spotted. Damn, you guys are sharp aren't you?
So regarding the 'drops' as DB termed them... why exactly would DB be right to point this out if is was correct in his assumption?
-
• #8546
they're at the wrong angle! (and DB called them drop-outs, not drops)
-
• #8547
track ends not drop outs.

Perhaps, when you use lines like "Why buy a 'fake' track bike or a singlespeed like a Charge, a Langster or a Filmore, when you could have the real deal and stand out on a rideable classic?!!", when it appears you're selling a conversion, you rile the ebay hounds?

OK, Fred that was a little patronising. In the message he spent (sorry wasted) his time sending me on eBay he called them "rear drops" not drop-outs.
So what angle are they, based on what you can see from the photo? And what angle should they be?

'Fork ends'
