Um... I actually own one of those "No Kangaroos" t-shirts. Purchased in Salzburg after Oktoberfest. I also purchased a roast chicken and 6 cans in the same complex. The chicken was very good after a diet of "liquid bread" for the 4 preceding days

The expression "liquid bread" rescued you from despiteous looks. I prefer "Blechweckerl"[blɛçˈvɛkɐl] --> steelplate bun.
