I didn't see the impact, but he was sitting on the ground, holding a cloth to his ear to soak up the blood. I do think he may have been slowing though. A traffic light was not far ahead. The van driver did look very sheepish when giving his statement to the police. The bike still had the front and rear lights on, so the "I didn't see him guv", would not have worked for the van driver.
To those that are more aware of cranial impact issues, I did look to see if there was any clear fluid or thicker fluids mixed in with his blood, but it didnt appear so. His hearing seemed ok, though he may have heard my question from his farther ear. I'm still concerned, but he may have been alot tougher than his rather timid appearance belied.
