  • I am going to cycle round nailed to a cross in my White robes to get into the spirit

  • I'm gonna be a 'maybe'.
I always wanted to ride xmas day but I'm usually too fucked from the night before and the day of.. time for a change?

We'll all be fucked from the night before.

And anyway, it's my first ride so you'll be keeping pace with me if you're in gentlemanly spirit (not that I go slow, but.... )

    That's the Easter ride.

  • Jesus, I'm suprised that any of you actually bit, I may have to plan a route rather than the adhocwherethefuckami route of last year.

    Watch this space.

  • Whoa, serious riders joining now, no plum pudding.

  • I would'nt go to specific on planning a route. Chaos rides are always fun.

  • Xmas with the Family but enjoy kids. London with NoTraffic TM is great. It's amazing how quiet it always is.

  • was thinking of cycling from my house in whitechapel up to my bro's in tottenham on xmas day cos of the lack of traffic thing...may find where you guys are and tag along for a wee bit.

  • Got a route yet, Obj to the ect?

  • Got a hangover. Route tomorrow.

  • My girlfriend and a friend want to join me, but they are not fast, so we'll probably end up bailing partway in. Either that or I keep going and leave them to it.

  • Everyone is more than welcome to join us.
I basically have two vague routes in mind.

The first (now vetoed) route was a ride out past Epping and a bit excessive for a christmas day jaunt.

The Second route (The one we'll be doing) is around 20ish miles and all within zones one and two. It should be a relatively light pace and is more for the social aspect than anything else.

Bring them both, they'll be fine.

  • [ame="http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Waifs-Strays"]Fuck

    %22%5DFuck it have a suggested route.[/ame]

Meeting at Oxford Circus at 9:00am
    Finishing at Kens House (Towerbridge).

The ride is nice and shourt as I fully expect we'll get diverted at somepoint just due to curiosity of how quiet it is and I will be actively encouraging people to bastardise this route on the day but think we need a vague semblance of a plan until then.
Suggestions are welcomebut will be ignored

  • Any chance of an earlier start or is 10 fixed?

  • Done. Nine or Eight?

  • 9? Well.. if you think people will go for 8.. vote?

  • Eight Thirty?
To be honest the earlier the better as it makes for even quiter streets. I love the "first day after the apocalypse" feel to christmas rides.

I like this rationale! Sun rise is around 8, so 8:30 is probably best for light's sake.

  • 8.30 it is then.

  • I think im going to bail on this one and spend a chilled day with my little bike

as much fun as as riding through deserted london with a bunch of you sounds heading down there day before just to do this would be dumb

    have fun

m thanks again for the hospitality this weekend

  • 8 fucking 30?!! are you serious? one of the joys of christmas is being able to sleep in!!! plus i'm bound to have a xmas eve hangover. push it back to 9:30 at least...

  • You'll be fine Teddy.
We'll all be hanging from whatever happens the night before.

I can call you to wake up and give you time to get there.

  • woken up by object on christmas day. it's like all my dreams come true...

  • Let's make it 9?

A good compromise between Hippy's undying urge to always be on his bike, my desire for sun light, and Teddy's desire for sleep.

  • 8.30 is good (assuming I can walk).. I've got xmas lunch with Mal and folks.
