Machined mallet heads

So I've been talking to this guy and am having a few sent over in about a months time. I don't know how much they'll work out after postage and possible customs but I'm hoping they'll be about a tenner, maybe 15 quid.

Any takers? I'm thinking I have 4 available...

Oh, and I have one used ski pole that is just long enough for a decent mallet. You can have it if you don't find anything else...

Was thinking i can be a bit too quick on the fingers and someone else should give the mallet head a go... thats all...

Matt - you can always drill the holes wider, they seem to be intended for the more narrow end of the ski pole.

I'd be interested if it's the later.

New ABS tube is on it's way from Canada. 60mm-2 1/4" and 50mm-2". I've tweeked the design a little and should be taking some weight off. I'll put 'em on the gram scale and let y'all know. Gonna make about 60-70 heads. 60mm 2 cappers, 60mm 1-cappers ("BJ" model), 50mm 2 cappers. I don't see a reason to make 50mm 1 cappers. The ball doesn't really fit in that small of a tube.

So there are the sizes. I noticed you use a slimmer head, do you want to see if he'll do a 50mm BJ? I'm gonna go with an open ended one as well but not sure which diameter I want...

Oh, and they're not pre-drilled for poles or bolts just because of different preferences around the world. I think he's going to drill a pilot hole just to help out with drilling straight.

Just measured the head on my current mallet, it's 60mm so the regular Bj model should be cool but I'd dedfinitely prefer a 50mm version if the guy is going to start doing them.

Um. Somewhat of an update...

"I'm embarrassed to say that I still don't know. The type of material I use isn't available from any local suppliers because it isn't good with the building codes around here. A guy in Canada is supposed to have sent me some from there (where you can buy it in hardware stores) but I have yet to receive it. I'm trying some other things, but I can't say with any certainty when it'll all come together.

As to NYC in Madison, there's maybe a 20 per cent chance that I'll make it. If there's more excitement among the St Louis crew, I may get swept up in it. Time will tell. If you're going to be there and the heads are done, I'll make sure they get up there one way or another for you, if that'll be faster than international post.
