Doesn't matter what I do, I can either get the cones of my rear hub (an old Normandy thing) tight so when it goes into the frame, it binds on when the track nuts are tightened, or loose so that there is play from side to side - can't seem to get the balance right.....
However, I just took it for a spin and there doesn't seem to be any problems encountered with a litle play from side to side (we're talking maybe 1-2 mm), so is there a point where it would tip over into dangerous terrority and possibly cause the chain to unship?
And any tips on getting the cones spot on - they seem alright out of the frame, but then the act of tightening makes them bind? Is it better to have spacers on the inside or the outside of the locking nut (the one next to the cone)?
