Do those hubs have a lock ring thread? If not I wouldnt use them on the road, track only
-
• #3
no lock ring thread, yet you can still put a lockring on it an it worked fine for me
-
• #4
yup he's right- use a bottom bracket lock ring and it works fine
-

fixed hub lock rings have reverse thread though to 'lock', would you not have a problem with a BB lock ring slipping with the cog?
-
• #6
you just thread it the reverse to the cog. no problem.
-

Thats what he means, a lockring thread threads in the opposite way to the cog.

reverse threaded logic.

maybe you put the lockring on backwards, that way the thread is reversed :-)

Seems like a shop used a pile of spare hubs for the axles as the axles generally cost more than a basic hub.
Nice & shiny though.
-
• #14
ah rite okay, so without the axle these hubs aint worth so much?
cheers for the help -
• #15
took a long time to clean these hubjubs

you should sell them to someone who will turn then in to pencil pots or toilet roll holders...
Well im having a clearout of lots of hubs, and i came across these vintage rear hubs, for use as fixed gear. No axle, or bearings are included however they would make a nice cheap rear wheel at certain bike shops. I have ordered the hubs, so just call out which one you would like. I am going to sell the normal hubs at 5 pounds each, and the branded hubs at 7 pounds each Im currently in cardiff so i would post the hubs for 2 quid.
feel free to ask questions.
Closer pics are the hubs which have actual engravings of the brands. 5-Maillard Sachs Huret,
8- Wan Seng, 6, 9,-KK and 4 is HC (Christophe).
