i could do sunday.
Weather should be ok for Sunday... pretty cold but thats a minor. If enough people say yes then its on, if not then not. Perhaps me and you Os R could meet and have a festive joust? first one to impale and kill the other wins.

I guess sunday.
Ideally somewhere which involves food/drinks/ some sort of event at the end.
Better think of something quick and get the word out somehow!
-
• #5
Why not make it next Sunday - more time to get the word out.
-
• #6
yeah next sunday, i cant do this sunday now anyway.

Next Sunday sounds good to me

Right thats it sorted then... I will plan some sort of event and post it here and on spinwell, also if Mr Fixup likes the idea perhaps he could post on fixuplooksharp???
So Like Shamim says, ride, event, food/drinks. But I warn you guys, Next sunday is the day after my works xmas party so I will be drunk driving/riding. watch this space.......... BTW, how do we feel about Drag racing??? no alleycats just pure head to heads on a straight road???? perhaps some wagers too! -

I just moved back to brum from Manchester and just discovered this group, any chance i could join you next sunday? Would be good to meet other riders.

More the merrier surely?
-
• #12
yo, I'm there!
What time and where? -
• #13
Two up knock out sprints, draw pairings out of a hat ?
-

Cool beans. Digbeth could be good for drag racing especially on Sunday.
1:30pm St Philips Cathedral (pigeon park)? -
• #15
Digbeth could be good, need a long flat road preferably one way, quiet, and with a long run off for the brakeless among us!
An airstrip? No seriously, an industrial park or car park would be ideal... I'm gonna go for a spin this aft for a requisition. -

How does everyone feel about having this slightly later... say 4.30pm. if not its cool, I just know a few riders that dont get off work until 4 that would love to get involved. let me know your thoughts.

any more takers?

4.30 seems better if there will be more people. It's gonna be cold anyway, and 1.30 seems a bit early if you sleep in on a sunday
-

Met check reckons dry, max 8C min 5C afternoon, max 2C min 1C evening for Sunday. Not that you should base anything on long range weather forecasts.
As long as the grounds not freezing I don't mind meeting later

Would be good to start off in daylight. 2.30? perhaps... are we still aiming for food in the inventory? If its after 4.30 and dark it kind of kills the wholesome daytime christmas get together/meal factor.
Are we going on a long ride before the sprint or vice versa?
Any idea where were headed too, seems all the best places that would have options for our vegan friends are actually in the city centre, or perhaps moseley/kings heath.

Most convenient one that comes to mind is in front of millenium point. But im sure I can think of somewhere more exciting.
Also, has any realised that if we have it on Christmas/boxing day etc we could have all the streets to ourselves?
Perhaps thats something we could do on new years day if you fancy it.

Tried there... they have some gay marquees up all over it.
I have penciled in Floodgate street... super long, flat, minimal roads coming onto it, and on a sunday QUIET.Re: 2.30 and daylight: Like Ben says I feel that if it means more folks can come we should try and accomodate for them dont you think? who needs light anyway, the dark makes it feel more... well... dark... and illegal!
Still though... keep your thoughts coming.

No by millenium point I meant, the private car park that runs alongside curzon st railway.
I think half of it is used as avis car rental.
Right then... it seems some of us ( including myself ) are hankering after a little meet up and ride session, perhaps even an ice skidding tournament!!!
I propose either this Sunday afternoon or next wednesday evening???
Let me know your thoughts and I will wang it up on spinwell
Cheers.
Oh and merry christmas!!!
