Hope you are not too badly bruised, RICE is the best advice, and plenty of ibuprofen.
Shame about the bike, but glad you seem to be in one piece.
I hope I was not too bossy or officious, just wanted the driver to be fully aware he was not going to get away with it and to make sure you had the phone numbers for myself and the other witness. Must say she was great, she was on the phone before anyone else. A great reminder that the pedestrian public can be so supportive (and not just leaping out in front of me as is there general tendency on that road).
I ride down HSK everyday, and am constantly amazed at the chaos I witness there. I am sure that some of the people there feel they have a financial shield that enables them to ignore the rules of the road as they can buy legal rerpesentation instead.

Not one for the weight weenies though.
if you wanted to make it lighter you could drill it I suppose....
You wouldn't use and air-to-air ordinance for the bike. You need a surface to surface option. M72 LAW would be good.
Madillness - sorry to hear about you and the bike. I do the HSK everyday and it is nucking futz at times. Hope to see you ignoring texts from the misses and sneaking in a swift pint out to West Beers again soon.

James you were a rock! ;)
Thanks again mate, I was a bit of a mess to be honest.
I keep remembering lying on the road and the driver try to pick me up, me shouting "Don't touch me!!" It's an instant reaction for the driver to get you on your feet so they can make like nothing happened. Of course I then realized I was lying in the middle of two lanes of Westbound traffic... oops... probably a good idea to get up, as the honking started.
How dare I block traffic, really!

Good to hear that this seems just like another case of 'bike totalled, rider OK', so much preferable to 'bike and rider totalled'. But as others have said, you should still have it all examined carefully. How did it feel after the shock had worn off? Get better soon in any case!

Quite. That always annoys me so much, especially in press coverage. I remember an incredibly offensive BBC London report when Wan-Chen McGuiness died under the wheels of an articulated HGV in Holborn ...

... which for most of the report only concentrated on how 'traffic' had been blocked in the rush hour:

I remember getting so angry about this at the time.

as going to bed last night I noticed how the graphics on my current board seemed to reflect my feelings about yesterdays events.

I know, I'm a bit blown away myself, both incidents happened exactly a month apart, 11th of Nov and 11th of Dec.

May I suggest using public transport on the 11th of January!

I'll be on crutches following surgery so I'll hopefully avoid any "Final Destination" style incidents..
