the gretag eye-one display 2 is good value for calibrating monitors, the colour munki thingy is meant to be good and i think it can be used with a printer?
because i only use one kind of paper i pay for a profile (about £20) you just print out the test chart and send it off for a profile to be created for your printer/paper.
