Although tools shouldn't be interesting and it's the results that count, given the prices of modern lenses a little interest in glass can save money. Such as the photo in post #1 - I use a 1965 Takumar f1.4 lens (£14ish) on a 20d. Way way cheaper than a modern f1.4 50m lens. And it helps take some great photos (bokeh-tastic) :)
