  • haha nice tags!

welcome all - and come on in, the water's fine!

personally it's a bit crap living *in *London sometimes. No hills, no decent roads to get some miles in (unless you want heavy traffic on a dual carriageway), and you have to put up with these losers every week.

is anyone from out of town coming in for the xmas cull party?

No hils . . . Fred you've obviously has never made it up to North Drinks!

  • or annerly, crystal palace etc

  • or waterloo bridge ramp...... what?

  • or tower bridge when it's raised..

  • Forgot about that one......

I've heard MOUNT pleasant's a tough one too...

  • Bring NJS GIFTS!!!! :)

My friend's flying in from Moscow so I've asked her to bring Rioja and chorizo.

  • Are these tags breeding?

Good choice... I would of asked for cheddar cheese personally

  • Are these tags breeding?

Please don't breed... IMAGINE the look of 'em!

  • Are these tags breeding?

    they always make me laugh.

    without fail.

  • Hey there,

been checking this place out for a while and learnt a lot - well enough to get my first fixed project underway anyway.

Felt it was time I joined and posted. Good to be a part of things - I'll post pics of my bike when its finally finished in a couple of wks (a Bob Jackson).

btw any one know where I can get a miche supertype seatpost in silver from?

  • If anyone calls me a reader's wife again I am going to punch you in the face,
    btw.

I don't know if this is the right forum for you if you can't take a little friendly stick.

Posting your Andel cranks in the Bike Porn thread did kinda warrant it though...

    Oh and Welcome :)

Hey, that was pre-forum nursery days. Probably. Anyway, I meant an affectionate punch in the face.

    And thank you.

  • Is this the "hello world, I'm new" thread?

    I'm new, no s/s or f/g... yet. :D

  • Hallo all. I'm new here.

Got my first fixed a month or so ago - already crashed it when some drunken a-hole jumped out in the road in front of me. Got some lovely bruised ribs but I kinda see it as a christening :)

Anyway, it's good to be here.

Welcome. Not a nice initiation into Fixed riding ^. Hope you heal up soon.

Word of forum advice. With a user name like that, stay well clear of Hippy ;)

  • Hi,

I am a new one on here. Been cycling for 10 years + (Commuting in various cities around the world, TT racing and Triathlon racing). I am building my first fixie this winter (to save me from boredom of TV repeats) from an old British Barron TT frame from 1980 - good old 531SL frame. Hoping to get some build tips and advice + some mad fitness....!

Cannot post pics yet, but will do if anyone is interested - spec looks like this (all seconhand or barghain bucket parts - as I only have racing bike parts in the shed!):

Barron (of Stow, Lincolnshire) TT froma circa 1980 Reynolds 531Sl s/h
Charge Slice handlebar and stem s/h
Taurus Wheels (formula flip flop hub) - cheap!
    FSA Vero chainset s/h

Seatpost, seat, chain, sprockets, brakes and levers to be sourced!

Anyone know if a 19.2 mm Aerobrake lever will fit into a 26mm external diameter handle bar - I guess it will with the expansion plug - confirmation would be nice before I commit the cold hard cash!

    Anyway - Hello everybody!

  • Welcome - another Alfa aficionado, eh?

  • Hmmm - Yes Platini (Assumed of the legendary French footballer!)

I got the mail address years ago when selling my beloved Alfa GTV lusso - kinda stuck ever since....

  • Just joined but cant post on the classifieds yet !

  • must try harder?

  • Very good Ved.

    tryingharder - have a read through this - http://www.londonfgss.com/thread9350.html
