When I was a lad and lived off London's famous Portobello Road, French punks used to ask me for an autograph then offer to buy me drinks... The first time I thought they must've been fans of my own band (yeah, right! Deluded fool!), it transpired they thought I was Mick Jones... Being skint I decided to roll with it, sign my name as MJ and take the free drinks... There are probably still 40-something French punks out there swearing blind they had a pint with Mick Jones at Finch's on Portobello Road, clutching a bit of napkin with my scrawl on it... True story... :D
