By cutting a chunck off the suuupa-dupa long seatpost I saved myself more than 50grams for every journey. But the seatpost gained 3 grams with the gold paint, which may mean I will have to skip breakfast every morning. Not only is this a bike build, but this is becoming Scientific! Im surpirised you're still reading this.
Anyway this is what it looks like so far, still half-drying, more photos to follow when I polish and put this beast together.
EddieShit! tynan has been cloned and moved to Cambridge!
Welcome to the fray Eddie. -

My old Elswick Hopper bike that I found in a abandoned house.
A month on, done and dusted fixed gear. (apart from peddle straps)
Yeesh - that thing must ride as loose as my grandmother...
props for finding it though! -

After looking at Eddie's post I feel as though I've been reading a weird Weight Weenies/Londonfgss cross over forum
Like what you've done with the frame

I love it.
Was thinking of using a front disc brake for my next build. How does it ride?
Its good, its a 2nd hand set up though and i think somethings a bit oily as the braking isn't as sharp as i'd expected. Looking forward to gettin it bedded in right and pulling 1 finger stoppies.

what tyres? Do they come in black with the traditional wall colouring?
Front is a veloflex Master
Rear is veloflex PaveThe only difference is that the master is 20mm(170g) and the pave 22mm(180g), and both have kevlar puncture protection.
They come in black, blue, red, and yellow, and are handmade in Italy by the same folk who used to make vittoras before they shipped production to the east.I'm also experimenting with latex inners to compliment the 300tpi. Have'nt had a chance to ride them yet but pressure will probably need topping up every other day by the looks of things ;(

Hi, there! Just finished my current project. It's an original FLANDRIA track frame from the 70s. I bought in in MS, Germany.
Some pictures.
Best,
Tim

Thats fresh.
Reckon risers would look better rather than drops imho.
You won't catch me wearing white trainers in winter.
My spok is gonna be black attack.

make sure you never let that baby see rain or dust for that matter, i say get a cover for it and keep it behind a shiny glass window.nice one, not a big fan of the saddle, but I can see where the styling comes from

So i currently am stripping an On-one hub, and soon to be stripping a Sys Ex Hub, putting in new high quality bearings, powdercoating some arayas, powdercoating the hubs, powdercoating the spokes, and building a Unipack- priced cyclocross singlespeed for a friend.
i like building stuff.also, unrelatedly, I;m testing a cure for cancer on cell lines an old lady donated, an eleven year old girl donated, and being bored senseless.

Pearson build up, advice needed....
I have picked up an old Pearson's of London fully chromed frame from the 'bay" a couple of months ago.
All the parts can be viewed here....

Dating I think from the late 60's or early 70's this frame has been completely chrome plated. The down tube transfers are replacements and the head and seat tube transfers are original. There is a little corrosion here and there especially around the seat lug and the bottom bracket. I dont think the chrome is salvagable, so I am looking at a re-paint (Armourtex). Colour suggestions appreciated.
I have picked up a few parts;
NOS 3TTT Gimondi Bars Handlebars 41/43cm
NOS 3TTT Evol 2002 Stem Track Fixed 95mm 1"
NOS Mavic module e G40 27x11/4 36 hole clincher rims.
Sturmey Archer 36 hole large flange hubs.
Campagnolo Record Seatpost 27.2Size is 58.5cm (23") centre of bottom bracket to top of top tube, 56cm (22") centre-centre top tube and 123mm rear spacing.
I'm trying to decide on a colour, and the final build any suggestions would be a great help.
I'll be useing smallbrownbike (Matt) http://www.thehubbmx.co.uk/ For the final build. After doing such a great build up on my Rick Powel 653 frame.

yeh i'm definitely going to remove the blue arrows and probably the lettering seeing as some letters are missing. any tips on removing them? is it just a case of peeling them off and clening up with gt85?

Dont get me wrong im not saying dont ride, that would be ludicrous, I just see it as a special occasion sort of bike. Its a real bad boy for those dry, sunny cruising days, especially with the white rims en' all.

try and peel it off, and then clean off the sticky bits with white spirit, work a treat and look as if it never came with sticker.
change the quick release to a bolts - best to deterred theft.

BLING Ive put my bike together today and took it out for a spin in a ten story car park WHEEEEEEE gets boring after the third time you come round to be honest. Got some shots of it as well, enough talk, just look.
These are up on me flickr, so feel free to browse through my other (non bike) photos here http://www.flickr.com/photos/eduardpiel
And this is how it looks like without the "useless" artiness

CK StealthSetâ„¢ installed... Just need to fix that brake cable now, looks hideous...
Got a couple of black furrets (or whatever they are called, the bits that go each end of the cable) if you need to add to the stealth.
at a guess the pedals go road and...... sorry
