yesterday, at the lights under the arches, me heading town ways, someone heading out of town ways. we both trackstood till the green light, then nodded as we rolled away. it was funny. i was off to the climbing centre trying to beat the rush (i failed) so didnt stop to chat. also two bikes at the centre, pretty colours, one ss the other fixed. one with the shittest cable lock and hardware store padlock. just begging to be stolen... sheesh, some people will only learn when their shit gets taken.

Fixed Blue Pompino rider with chromed guards who led me on the craziest chase from the fountains up to Stokes Croft, dodging buses with some savage shoulder drops to get through the gaps, good skills, hope you are up for the Alley Cat.

Spotted a pista with an extra passenger going up Cheltenham rd opposite the Pipe in the bollock freezingly chilly early evening on Saturday, about 6/half 6ish. Looked like fun. I was stuck inside a super shit Citroen Berlingo van covered in Vitamin Water logos.

Spotted two "riders" with death wishes yesterday:
Death wish #1:
One guy on a Bianchi Pista up Gloucester Road near the arches, brakeless, no toe straps, no clips. What the hell that guy is going to do when a foot slips going down Whiteladies Road or Park Street is beyond me
Death wish #2:
Kid delivering newspapers on a single speed, brakeless, not fixed. This one really baffles me. He has no way of stopping his bike at all, even for traffic lights. How does he stop? Does he jump off the bike all the time?
-
• #137
brakeless BMX? Maybe he has the skills.
-
• #138
nope, it was a full-sized bike like you and I ride... was tempted to go up and ask him whether he had a death wish, but then I thought that society would benefit if I didn't...

A whitedread with a pretty messy looking fixed bike walked past me and said "yay fixies"
Think his bike was black but not sure.. would have chatted but I was deep in conversation with a man on a brompton about Reynolds 531 Tubing.
Saw also two singlespeeds parked next to eachother outside cabot circus...
they both had only a front brake... WHY DO PEOPLE DO IT -
• #146
theres a blue claud butler with very narrow bars always locked up at my uwe campus (bower ashton) and a couple other singlespeed bikes, but im pretty sure that the claud butler is singlespeed and is just running a front break with a goldfinger lever.
and also saw a trendy looking chap heading towards cabbot circus (don't know what the road is called) on what could have been a black bike but i wasn't paying much attention as i was late for work on foot!

..it was possibly a dark green frame\fork and he was possibly unlucky enough to be travelling to work to work all day with me. He was late for work as well this morning. I left early, actually. A bad case of 'the Saturdays' all round.

..basically, I work out in back-stock, so...I'm not usually hanging around on shop floor but if you see a guy walking around with a clipboard and a radio, chances are that it's me. I should be wearing glasses, although I did a good job of loosing them the other day, so...at the moment I'm doing my best to function without them.
A couple of the guys that work there ride fixed and the rest ride single speed, actually. Ahha. -

ah right, where do you lot lock your bikes up then? i bet you fellows are always wearing the hipest of clothes then eh?
yer, he cycled past me earlier by walkabout and i realised my error, i do like the look of that bike though it is very nice.
