  • A standard frame size will only work if you have standard proportions. If you do, yes, it'll be 56/57cm seat tube (depending on the way they measure it), but different manufacturers may have very different top tube lengths, and you may have some fun playing around with headsets, spacers, bars to get the right fit. There are loads of fitting advice sites around, but I must admit I have only found I understood it when someone actually explained these things to me in person and showed them to me while I was sitting on a fitting jig. It's expensive but really helpful to get measured up. Most quality manufacturers will offer this service.
