Need front and rear long-reach caliper brake

On this note - can i ask a question too.

My GF's Bike has rubbish brakes - and essentially no brakes in the wet.

If i get some new dual pivot calipers such as the SJS /Tektro ones above - keeping the old weinmann levers will we see an increase in braking performance? - her front rim is Mavic Open Sport - rear is an old steel jobbie....

If the rear brakes don't have the original blocks (ie designed for contact with chrome rims) in them that might be half your problem right there.
