  • Saw a full sus for £50 in Chav Church (also known as SoccerSport).
    Broke my heart to think of all those chavlings getting them for xmas.

    If you can stretch to say 400 -500 (cant be bothered working it out), On-One do a budget inbred with full Deore gruppo (V-brakes).

    Decent frame + fork (definately worth building on later if the need is felt for front sus, discs etc.) ;
    Handbuilt wheels;
    You spec it yourself;
    Deore gruppo is pretty bombproof, and parts are cheap and easy to source (I can personally recommend it);
    Decent V-brakes are easier to live with than cheap discs.

    Other than that, engaging bike snob mode, take Eds prices and add £600/£700 to each one and you have more of a guideline on what you need to pay for decent kit!

    Very true (IMHO), so steer clear of cheap sus and cheap disc brakes. This is tricky, as big bike brands love them (discs and front sus look the part)
