I don't know anyone who hasn't had undeserved grief and aggression from the plod, and this includes 'good clean middle class' types like my parents.
In fact I'd like to know what percentage of the 'average joe's' contact with them has been deserving of verbal abuse and sanctimony from a lippy uniformed thug.
A lot of people dislike the police cos they feel they ought to (which is sad), but a lot truly dislike them because of their attitude and behaviour towards people who really are not harming anyone.
Sorry didn't mean to get all anti-police, just countering that earlier point by +imMe
