a few weeks ago i changed a tube in a hurry and accidentally put my wheel on backwards (its a flipflop hub) so it was on freewheel - but i didn't realize it, ran outside, jumped on and had a very surreal feeling of utter confusion/lack of control/jelly legs before i figured out what i'd done. rode that way to where i was going and had to actually focus on coasting because it felt so foreign. it's never happened the other way around though since i only have the one bike and keep it on fixed.
