i picked up a geared bike the other week after pretty much only riding fixed for 2+years.
I almost crashed a couple of times because i forgot i had to use brakes to stop. Forgetting that track standing is not the easiest task on a geared bike as well.
Switching back and forth has caught me a couple of times though when I forget to pedal for a second or 2.
