46 x 18 has magical properties, as discussed on previous threads, but 46 x 17 is the medium gear standard.

Hmmm, so your saying go with 18t? 69 seems a bit low? Would I find it a bit too low after running 49/16 or is it a great ratio with the supposed magical properties?

With a 700x23, it's 67.5"
In this gear, 80rpm is 16mph, 90rpm is 18mph, 100rpm is 20mph, etc.
Apart from the built in cadence indicator, it's low enough for snappy acceleration, getting up 15% climbs, and feeling more at one with the world than you'd ever thought possible ;)
I've also hit 40mph 46x18 :O

Brick Lane Bikes had them in a couple of weeks ago dude, though i plumped for a 17t Phil instead - those EAI are pricey

i now use 44/14 on 170mm cranks, giving somewhere around 80 gear inches. seems to suit me fine cos i can get to a decent speed without peddling like a mofo.
I found 44/16 too slack, although its nice when starting off -

I has 17t EAI. Fairly well used. Also has completely untouched Miche 17t. Both 1/8 natch. Lemme knoow

Asm, do you still have the Miche sprocket around? Do you still want to part with it?
I looking for one, so please let me know.

Do any one know what other brands of sprocket can you use with Miche hubs, apart from Miche itself?
I know there is a issue with theads dimmension, but I can't find that information paired with the brand of sprockets.

I have a spare EAI 17t, brand new, would want what I paid for it, was an unwanted pressie for a mate who got one before I could give it to him. You prob don't need it now...
Anyone know who has them in stock?
Hubjub has 16 and 18 but I really want 17, have been running 49/16 on my ss, but want to run a low 70 gear inch on the fix and I am getting a 46t front with my Sugino 75.
