grind it down a bit ?

We need some more info. It sounds like something isn't quite right. What size tires are you using? What is your wheel size? Do you have a picture?
if you got 700's (622mm) with a skinny tire (say 19-23) and you can't fit short reach (39mm) calipers on the fork, then the person who drilled the hole screwed up. If this is the case, you can use a drop bolt in reverse. if It comes to that, I'll show you how to do it.

Drop bolt in reverse you say? ...yep 700s on there. I'll check the tyre height later, skinny tyres may work too, any recommendation?
It looks to me like the person drilling was fairly ambitious, the fork crown isn't really big enough for it... there's a tiny flake of metal at the bottom of the hole/fork crown, gah.

i think campag delta brakes have the shortest reach/clearance of any brake out there, not 100% sure though...

It sounds, from what you say, like the tyre is rubbing on the caliper. Are the pads hitting the rim propoerly and what size tyre do you have? One option would be an older single pivot brake, as teh design means they have more of an arch shape. Do you think the tiny flake of bridge that's left is strong enough to hold a brake caliper securely?

Photos! We need photos!

+1 photos = easier to tell if the drilling is botched.
+1 to Tim for a good reversal answer, v.sheldon
@hassanr - deltas do have short reach but they don't work.. deltas are for folks that don't use their brake and just like the look (give'm a go and see if its not true)if the drilling is fkd a new fork is not too expensive.

Dump a few gear inches and ride brakeless! or new forks...

if you're looking for short reach calipers you want these puppies:
They work perfect on drilled track forks. They've got them on ebay from time to time. Beware, the brake shoes are a nightmare to get hold of.

fair enough, wouldn't/haven't put campag on any of my bikes anyway, they're just the shortest i know of

can't be bothered to read the whole post so this my be pointless. But, I had a frame and fork combo where the caliper jammed against the crown race and would not move. I filled the caliper dawn and it worked great.

I also had the same problem, and like Gizmond says, file it down - I put mine over a bench grinder a few times. There's plenty of surplus material over the 'knuckle' of the brake, and as long as you don't go mental it'll remain fit for purpose.

I can't find an AGC anywhere and it looks as if it would work.
I'm also struggling to find somewhere that could supple me with this kind of thing:
Failing that, I'll grind it down.

I have some spare forks, but want to use them for something else. Am currently riding brakeless on the Colnago, but not out of choice... front brake for the win.

drop bolts are impossible to find, and if your caliper is double hinged one, those have been totally discontinued.

SJS cycles has them.

Suntour GPX brake caliper
I've just received a new track frame that has a drilled front fork, but didn't come with a caliper... everything I've got rubs on the wheel by a mm or so.
Does anyone know of the best caliper for the job? (I don't want a clamp on and assume something must fit for them to drill it?)
Something where the bolt is the lowest point of the brake caliper of something where the brake (when fitted close) pulls it's skirt up and away from the wheel maybe?
