• aero on front, disc on back.

that is the way of things

• I want one for my Langster:)

• Zipp wheels are the way forward

• Wagon Wheels are the way forward

• aero on front, disc on back.

that is the way of things

I went through my aerospoke phase, and built what for me was my dream modern HHSB - did find it faster when you got up to speed, kind of felt like it was pulling you along

Reuseing the disc on the new Lo-Pro with a Zipp front

And RPM i know i never used the bike on the Velodrome (to my regret, and BDW will no doubt give it the thrashing it deserves), but i had to get a build like this out of my system

Pictured here when i first mocked it up:

• Wagon Wheels are the way forward

Controversial. I hear spokey dokeys are back in too

yeh but you can't put spokey dokeys on aerospokes or discs...

• yeh but you can't put spokey dokeys on aerospokes or discs...

You have to glue them down the side of the aerospokes. It's like so post-modern.

• yeh but you can't put spokey dokeys on aerospokes or discs...

You can get three massive Spokey Dokeys for Hed3 wheels.

• haha, that would be quite comical to hear them thooonk, thoonk!! thoonk!! down the blades :)

• does it ride like a trangular shaped wheel?

• Wagon Wheels are the way forward

Repped

• did anyone see the kid with a aerospoke on the front at critical mass??
was he riding fixed aswell??

Have a look at 1'.30" - hard to tell, but it looks fixed.

• I've seen that kid a couple of times. Although he had both Arrospokks on. It certainly looks like him otherwise. I figured it was the son of someone on here seeing as he's usually with some guy (presummably his dad) on a similarly arrospokked bling bike. Both brakeless fixed too.

• It's Dean and Keanu, I think. He's going to be a good rider.

• he called his kid Keanu or he is Keanu?

If its the kid then he must be, what, 12 years old? maybe 14?
If he was also named after the actor then you've got to wonder which film inspired him to name his kid after an actor. So that makes it 94 or 96. At which point Keanu had made some good films, some terrible films and a load of teen crap.

I'm guessing it was due to his performance in Point Break. It can't be Bill n Ted can it?

• its possible he didn't name him after the actor of course but it seems a bit coincidental.

• HI! i have a front wheel 5 spokes carbon , same shape and design of Aerospoke.

pm'd you...

• forgive me (or not) for being a cuntish fucktard but what is the practical purpose of front Aerospoke rear laced. It makes a lot of good componentry look thrown together IMHO.(relative newbie dumbfuck admition)

• There is no practical point whatsoever. People who ride that set up just like the look of them.

Each to their own!

• Does look pretty cool when it's spinning, but it still means you're labeled a hipster if you have one.

• I agree with Sano.
Don't get too critical until you've ridden on them... They're not everyones "cup of tea", but they are awesome to ride - and pretty strong...
Hipster-Schmipster.....

• No real practical point, if you do have an aero wheel the aero advantages are largely lost putting it on the rear, you gain much more advantage having on the front - so perhaps that's where it evolved from - but for day to day riding around London it makes no difference.

I think they look nice though and are pretty much maintenance free.

From Hed . . . .

*The front wheel breaks the wind first, so this is the most important of the two. In certain conditions, a front wheel will save twice as much as the rear*. However, it also depends on the model of wheel, because a rear disc will provide at least as much performance as any other aero design on the front.
