If that were the case then wouldn't we all be running tyres at 0 PSI?
Optimally pressured tyres give good grip. Too hard and they have too small a contact patch and offer less grip, too low and the tyre deforms and grip is poor. The recommend inflation range on most tyres is there for a reason folks.
