@ FBR - The road just off the roundabout which leads onto Old York Road just before the train station. Its completely and utterly my fault, won't be riding on those paved bus stops again.

i havnt had any falls yet, but i keep almost loosing it on wet leaves.
ive got gatorskins at the mo, but i also have some of the slicks contental do (forget the name). gatorskins are obviously more hardcore in terms of protecton, but do they provide as good grip in wet?

oh. same spot where a fckin van squeezed me out of the lane and onto that bus lay-by on the way home tonight. fckn prick.
tricky section that. drain covers are angled the wrong way there. and there is a step up onto the lay-by. you either have to position yourself right in the middle of the lane or just get on the shared path on pavement.

Yep thats the one...next time i'm on the shared path.

stacked it twice tonight, over by The Globe theatre. Sliiippppy as fuuuuckkkkkkk (with the emphasis on fuuuuuukkkkkkk as the bike disappears under you). Luckily not going too fast and of course no traffic but still sore now and wondering what's going to hurt tomorrow.
Bad luck Ved, hope you aren't too badly bruised.

by the globe on the cobbled path Phil? Those are a motherfucker...
cheers dude same to you!

I reckon some of the slippery stuff is the road salt they now mix with a sugar beet stuff to make it stick to the road longer, fine if it is icy but on a damp or wet morning just as bloody slippy.

I hasn't slipped tonight with the front gatorskins, but then I was being careful, especially when I can feel the grip from the tyres warning me that it could slips if I pushed it too hard.

"It's slippery outside people!"
Luckily we are all inside people - assuming the body ends where the external world starts.
But can we be said to be inside ourselves.
Hmmmm. . . . deep shit.

did a wonderful skid in the car where I normally do it cornering on two wheels.....in my mind anyways...., but someone did even better - they parked their Toyota on its side further down the road, a little bit messy.
Very odd conditions indeed

ty- some have their heads up their asses and are quite happy there....no contact with the outer world at all

How much weed you smoke to get to that conclusion?

That's exactly what El_Diablo said tonight! Whatever it is, it's fucking sketch!
Just like metal-topped drain covers and dodgy road repairs.
Epic cyclist consideration fail. -

Very slippery out there. I've developed a bad habbit of skidding mid corner, puts a big smile on my face like a school kid as the tail steps out. But tonight the tail was snapping out big time, only stayed up by luck.

I can't say the number of two wheel skids I've had recently have left me feeling entirely confident on the roads. There's a lot of diesel everywhere - but especially on the inside of most roundabouts.
I've got bruises everywhere - the trouble is that the closer I get to 30, the bigger they are and the longer they take to heal. Why can't I be young again? I'm just this aching mass of brusing and pain...

Love my cheap as hell Michelins. I remember trying Gatorskins and almost giving up and walking home because they just lost traction with no warning at all. Dreadful bloody things.
Michelin Dynamics, loads of road feel, decent grip and wear, less than £6 an end usually. -
• #44
Ouchie! Heal up soon, Ved!

Hope you're ok bro. I got me some Swable Ultremo's for me Birfday, they're slick like a very slicky slick thing. Think I'll stiick with the Stelvio Plus' for now.

On my way home from college last year I wiped out at aroun 25mph (being cautious) on a downhill, off camber bend with spilt diesel. I remained clipped in and slid about 20 yards down the wrong side of the road (amazingly through a break in the oncoming traffic) on my hip and forearm before bouncing up a kurb and getting it in the squidgy bit between my ribs and hip. Shredded my jeans and hoody, major gravel rash, nicely scratched handlebars, shoes and pedal and a bruised kidney. Wasn't fun.
shit that horrific, and blimmin lucky. i had a similar thing happen, but without the oncoming cars. sheesh..
and Ved, take it easy dude, as well as everyone out there.
Smoothly does it, and whipping around will surly get you hurt. -
