I've lost the front end 3 times so far this winter. It really pisses me off because it knocks your confidence, and stops riding being fun.
(i need some) modulation, for the nation.
This isn't just directed at miro but maybe as fixed gear riders (some of) you aren't using your front brake unless you absolutely have to and as a result are grabbing it too sharply. I've not had my front wheel slip out from in front of me for as far back as I can remember (although it has happened, just its a good 20 ish years ago is all). 3 times in the past year sounds crazy.
That or you're going too fast into the corners.
I always use my front brake before I apply my rear, unless I'm skidding or my front wheel is on gravel or some other instance, but day to day I apply front brake first in varying degrees (and then increasing the power) and then rear if I need to slow down quicker. I also tend to ride covering the brakes unless I'm going uphill (obviously this isn't the case if I ride drops but even then I tend to ride the hoods mostly). I wouldn't say I'm over cautious its just the way I'm used to riding, especially in traffic.
Even when I still had a fixed gear I'd slow myself with my front brake first before I locked my legs up.
