Hello all,
Thought this could be of interest, but in the gallery I manage we have a show of Photographs by British Photographer Maurice Broomfield, he mailnly photographed British heavy industry in the 50s and 60s, one of the prints is of a guy working in the Raleigh factory in 1954, its a lovely print and I shall try and post an image of it here soon, anyway I thought if anyone is near by do pop over and see it...
Also a while back we had a show of Belgian Photographer Stefen Vanfleteren's pictures of the Flandrien:
"Tough, determined, unsophisticated riders, the Flandrien are the heroes of the Tour of Flanders and the Paris-Roubaix, races which specialise in some of the worst roads and weather conditions imaginable in bicycle racing. They are so far removed from the sun-drenched glamour of the Tour de France that it is almost a different sport."
And I still have few lovely prints from that if want to come see.... All prints are for sale but do just come have a look if your interested... My name is Harry and just ask for me.... or maybe warn me before you head down if you want to see the Vanfleteren as I need to dig them out.... the Gallery is HOST Gallery no.1 Honduras St, EC1Y 0TH 0207 253 2770 or harry (at) hostgallery(dot)co(dot)uk
Thanks
