  • yeah i think that could be it. the diameter of the lockring theads is slighly smaller than the cog threading, so i think that is where it is getting stopped. i assum this is normal on fixed hubs as the cog wouldnt be able to screw on.

cheers for your help! really gotta get this sorted.
im going to try a spacer i think. any recomendations on where to find them? google doesnt seem too helpfull...

  • @mikey

ah ok, would have been good if i did have both, ahh well.

i really hope i havent ruined the threads. i checked them and they looked ok from what i can see. and the cog screwed on pretty well.

i hope i dont have to get a new hub, or wheel as i dont really know how to build them... i have absolutely no money.

im moving to vancouver for a few months and the flights are rinsing all my money! grr

    cheers for your help!

  • for a while there I had a similar situ tried everything incl. riding up steep hill then tightening lockring. thought I had stripped the thread

finally went for the rotafix method and it seems to have sorted it out, and tighten the lockring like a mother after every ride for the first couple of days

not sure if this will help - but did in my experience

  • ahh i managed to fix it today finally! Did everything suggested, and went to a few unhelpfull shops, but nothing worked.
Then today I just found a spare lockring I replaced the old one and it worked. No slipping

    Cheers for everyones help
