Oven cleaner is the safest bet in my opinion as it contains a very low concentration of caustic soda and will eat away at the oxide before the metal, hence freeing the post from the frame. Anything with cutting is a higher risk incase you slip and take a slice out of some frame tubing (it's quite a fiddly job!).
