Why stop at the helmet? Buy yourself the bike that goes with it.

    Because you're worth it...

  • got to say I'm not really all that much in love with the curved carbon koga goodness. Carbon frames don't really get the sap rising. Not quite sure why. Look nice and all, just have no desire to get one, now if one fell into my lap don't get me wrong I'd ride it, but wouldn't spunk me own hard earned on one...

do you think I put too many penis/erection/ejaculation phrases in that last post...

  • Nope. Trackie thread.

  • whilst I was debating whether to get it or not, all three have been bought bastard!!!!!

  • Sunday November 16th.
Am booked in for my Velodrome Clinic Newbie session.

Wish me luck (or just the customary abuse and HTFU will be fine as well).

  • Survived first velodrome session.

Why did no one tell me about this before. I'm hooked :)

  • nice one AP!

remember: push hard and keep turning left

  • Thanks RPM.

I couldn't believe how steep those banks are. I thought there's no way I doing that, but when you're actually doing it it feels totally safe. And fun :)

One poor girl did come a cropper though. Too fast on the concrete and slammed on her chin. Made everyone else concentrate that little bit more. One of the trainers told me that at their last 6 dayer someone ended up in the seats!

  • Excellent stuff. How long is the track over there and what's the angle of the banking?

  • It's 200m long, and I think (I didn't ask and the site is only in Dutch) it's 47degrees. I'll ask next time I go.

Below is a link to a recently shot video there.

  • Hi David,

really hoping to get to Newport myself soon, got a busy schedule though. Hopefully I'll sort something before christmas.

  • hi rpm

well worth a go if you can make it - i'm lovin the rare pleasure of cycling indoors this time of year

  • hello all.

I'm one of the Brighton lot. Been going to Preston Park for a couple of years and hope to race the season properly in 2009.

Aiming for some decent winter training so I can take the pace next summer! So thought I'd join up here.

  • Hi all, and thanks for letting me join RPM

I ride at Aldersley in Wolverhampton most weeks, track bikes during the summer and road bikes during the winter

  • The non-smoking's going really well, which means I won't be able to blame lack-of-puff for poor performance anymore... Next step, improved leg strength, then I will own you bitches...

  • you'll have to get something that won't buckle under the pressure of your newfound power then, goodbye to the arrospok!

  • Warm weather training Joe? You must be serious.

  • Hi RPM

Just to introduce myself, my name is Myles.I live in Curitiba, Brasil, moved here from London 2 monhs ago.
My local track is Jardin Botanical, 1 of 8 in Brasil, outdoor, 333m and hella steep concrete banking, can't tell you steep, my portugese is not that good yet. So i ride with the track team from Jamurs Cycles, coached by the Brasilian national coach, and it seems everyone i ride with is either Braslian Champion, South American Champion...you get the idea!!
Still any training tips etc will be welcomed, as i have a language barrier to overcome here!!

  • sounds pretty good! if you can train with those guys then you must be doing something right

  • Still any training tips etc will be welcomed

    Welcome.

    Keep cycling. Avoid tubes.

  • I can be on the same track as them.....not that close to them tho' i am going for the most times lapped.
Cliveo that is easy, no tubes where i live!!!

  • avoid clinchers more like

  • i wish...tubs are difficult to come by here....
