  • Just don't do what I did when I worked in Cambridge and cycled 13 miles to work with a great tailwind, had a shower then discovered I'd left my trousers at home. Fail.

  • Undies and socks carried in daily.

Why? One pair last a week, maybe a fresh pair on Friday in case you pull at the pub.

the only things hippy pulls in the pub are other people's plonkers

  • if you want to loose weight, run to work ;)

  • Only con I can think of is being sweaty the whole time.

  • 18 miles each way 5 days a week is a bit much!

18mi each way? What's your commute? Are you still within the M25??

Maybe you should be on www.southdownsfgss.com? ;)

  • he does streatham to stanmore, hipp!

  • the only things hippy pulls in the pub are other people's plonkers

How's your love life at the moment?
Got up the courage to say "hi" to the Tesco checkout girl yet?

I find underwear gets in the way when I'm having a pull at the pub so I prefer commando.

  • The bulk of my exercise comes from my daily commute to work and back. I basically treat the journey ( 7 miles ) like a sprint the whole way. The route home takes in some tough hills which I grind up in a highish gear.

I can see no cons in it whatsoever

Fair play! I can understand why the leggies might be telling you to piss off when you wake up Friday..

    I shop in sainscuntys

and believe me, the checkout staff ain't fit.

  • Yes I do store some clothes at the office.
But like to have a one week rolling supply.
I would quite happily sit at the desk in my skinsuit, but I would get a few complaints!!!!

    Pete

  • I use one of these to take my shirts and trousers in on a Monday morning

    they work pretty well

I was gonna use Sainsburys but got worried you go off on one of your middle-class blah blah look i'm already falling asleep tangents.. :P

  • Hippy's got the right idea - drycleaners near work for the shirts, shoes in the drawer, hang up trews and chuck clean Reg Grundies in your bag.

  • i never thought of the drycleaners idea. at the moment i'm doing as hippy suggests above but ferrying shirts backwards and forwards every day. it's annoying to have to iron shirts then pack them in a bag where they get all crumpled anyway. actually it's annoying to have to iron shirts full stop. especially as i can never get it togther to have them ready for the week i usually end up ironing shirts every morning while three quarters asleep. i've love to not have to do that anymore.

    you will die for this

  • Drycleaners FTW!

...reckon thats ever been said before?

  • Clothes are my main problem (10 miles each way), jacket on back of seat, trousers in a draw (try to keep three pairs at work to avoid the forgetting to bring some in) shirts on suit bag in corner of office... I've ten shirts so need to bring ironned one's in once a fortnight (well I've got 12, but two shirts are crappy emergancy shirts!)... used to get the tube (also worked as a break when I wasn't used to the commute) but now I just gaffer tape them to my back pack!

But worse than all that is going out after work... either be the freak in lycra or cycle home in a suit and then have to bring it back the day after...

Aw, see, people are getting to know RPM better now...

  • Advantage: you don't use public transport at all if you do five days a week

    Rest days: that's the weekend

Weight loss 1: go for a 30-45min run on Saturdays and Sundays
Weight loss 2: avoid eating butter, cheese, mayo, crisps, fried food, sweets, cake and chocolate. Anything fatty really

fuck off, haven't you got some organic swede to pick up from waitrose in your 4x4?

  • Don't diss organic swede... or Waitrose.

  • was I dissing them?
