Well in my time as a bike mechanic i never came across a cable disc that was anything other than downright dangerous. As for the sprotor on the previous page isnt that a motorcycle part? Motorcycles would be running at the type of speed where contaminants would be more likely to burn off from the disc part. Also tat set up is the inverse of what is on the surly ie chain outside of brake so centrifugal force would drive the lube outwards and away from the braking surface.
