  • Yeah, will sort that out tonight... The eagle has definitely landed... ;)

  • lovely to see all, thanks for the smokes Rob, Snowy where were you?
oh and i snapped ANOTHER fucking spoke! Jim I may need your nipple skills again.

Oh and Jay I busted you last night I'm afraid, I bumped into Vee on the way home and she asked why you were not with me, that'll teach you for giving me the wavy hand treatment when i asked if you were coming back with me. :-D

Naughty Jay! He is now grounded until after Christmas ;)

  • the way back too???? haha... you must be fucking cursed Paul.

I know... thats about my fifth puncture in a month.. I can safely say my second one last night took much longer than the first to fix..

  • What tyres you using? Zaffiros?

He couldn't be on zaffiros. They won't puncture until you've worn down to the inner tube.

(I'll be regret giving myself the jinx pretty soon)

    JB

  • I've been runnin Gatorskins and Rubino Pro's for a year - only ONE puncture on both bikes. I changed as I had Zaffiros before and was getting 2 a month

I was just baiting you, I think the same things have been said on a boring tyre thread.

It was good to meet some of you lot last night. Good to feel welcome as a nurseryenger. Looking forward to the next one.

    Just shitty continental ultra sports..

ok, too fucken funny by far. Rode past 3 smashed car windows in a row. Glass everywhere. Got a puncture straight through the zaffiro. Slow leak so got home, but now I've had to stick a continental gator skin on as punishment for what I said above...

    Forgive me.

  • strats FTW

fuck me, a bit slow on my part but its all about the '57 Flying V's

Only about 90 ever made (if memory serves me right), good luck with that! ;]
    Gibson Moderne FTW!

  • And thats why I rock epiphone... :P

  • I love Flying Vs, brilliant studio guitars... Now that's ironic...

  • As for Monday, I will be gracing y'all with my ever so esteemed presence!!!

  • Cheeky I know, given I've never met any of you before, but if I bring a wheel with me tomorrow, could someone lend me a chain whip, and show me how to put my freewheel (1/8th) on the hub, in exchange for a pint or two? It's a flip-flop hub, already running fixed on one side, and I want to stick the freewheel on the other side. Thanks

  • I'm sure there will be plenty of big strong men willing to help you.
I will be in attendance tommorrow, with overshoes for Snowy and Mashton for Stevo

  • Freewheel should just spin on clockwise and then pedalling normally up a hill to tighten it on. Bit of grease on threads to make sure if you ever want to change it it will come off again.

    YAY!! 25 sheets wasn't it?

  • Totally in for tomorrow night...
@ m a r i e: Are you just taking a fixed cog off? I'll have my DA tool anyway so no probs... If you're removing a freewheel you'll need a freewheel removal tool...

  • Not sure I like the idea of relying on my wussy legs to tighten up the freewheel! :s I'll bring the wheel along anyway, it'll flag me as the newbie atleast.

@ teenslain - I want to keep the fixed cog that's on there at the moment, I just want to put the freewheel on the other (currently bare) side of the hub, so I can go singlespeed for a while. It's probably the easiest thing in the world, but I'm worried about messing up the threads and/or building a death trap by doing it with trial and error by myself!

You'd be fine cos with a freewheel there's no chance of undoing anything the way you can with a fixed cog. You can only apply forward pressure that tightens everything up.

You'll have more problems ever trying to get the bugger off again

  • What ADT said, piece o' piss... We'll take a beer each for the consultation... ;]

  • won't the chainline be different with the freewheel?

    hmmm, hmmm?
