I can confirm that you will ride around smugly with only you knowing that the BB has those 3 letters stamped on it. If you want quality buy a phil wood. If you're considering this, buy shimano or even miche. But yes, you are correct. In the same way as duraace hubs are not sealed.

Oh yeah, I also run Dura Ace hubs and they have been excellent and problem free.

P.S I didn't realise that the Hatta R9400 was NJS approved !!! I feel very very powerful now, I am going to strip the bike down, dismantle the BB and then take a picture of myself naked posing next to my greased up NJS BB.
