  • [utterly pointless thread alert]Today, I had the best day of my term so far at Oxford.
Said goodbye to my gf who's going to work in Russia for 6 months- not exactly a happy moment, but it was a perfect goodbye, despite being in Gatwick.

I then got on the train to Victoria, and got there and the sun was shining and everything seemed right with the world (except no bike- walkengering)
some cunty "I am become Death"er nearly ran me over whilst crossing the road on green man, which made me smile.

I walked from Victoria to Hackney, via loads of places I'd been to, cycled past and taken for granted whilst living in london.
Did the full tour of the Barbican, saw areas of shoreditch, dalston, london fields, etc that i'd never seen.

Went into St. Pauls on the way back to paddington (it wasn't a very ordered wander)

Saw the changing of the guards (horse and palace)- my first time.
Popped into BLB, picked up some essentials- they were extremely nice.

Anyway time came that I had to be heading back to Oxford, and I got on the train as sunset, and so had an amazing exiting london view.
Oxford is dull and a backwater, and so this long rant is all to say don't take our city for granted- it just might be the nicest place on the planet.

I didn't see anyone from the forum that I recognised, but did see a severe lo pro outside the old shoreditch station, silver and with the aero additions at headtube and BB.

    Thanks for listening.
    Henry
