I generally like 94.9, but Joanne Good & Paul Ross are a particularly shit breakfast radio combo in a sea of shit breakfast radio.

  • my friend liz summed it up pretty well.i think she said something like "Joanne shits out of her mouth and Paul tries to clean it up."

it seem to me that she talks about issues that she has no clue about...then Paul spends the next ten minutes trying to sort it out.

  • Done.

..and I had the grace to spell her ridiculous name right. Capital A hole.

And btw, BOTH presenters failed to notice that by what the HGV driver stated, the cyclist was hit from behind. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that the vehicle rear-ending the one that's hit is always legally at fault for not respecting due safety distance. How the devil they failed to spot that... oh wait, maybe because they are ignorant callous idiots?

  • Ok, her comments weren't great, but (in this case) the cyclist sounds to have swerved in front of the lorry while ridding with headphones. Perhaps her comments of lesson learnt was simply a warning to other cyclists not to do stupid things. I doubt she ment it malisiously...

I know I for one have nearly been hit on innumerable occasions, and about half of those were my own stupid fault. Indeed, I seriously doubt if any sane person (and I'm not for a moment suggesting that all road users are sane) would deliberately try to hit someone. It's just down to poor judgment.

However, I do take the point that the comments COULD be construed by some to support the assertion that bikes are simply a nuisance on the road, but I doubt her comments have swayed anyone's opinion....

  • Bitch.

Couldnt be bothered to listen or read the transcript but here face looks like it has seen better days anyhow.

Joanne Good made several inflammatory remarks against cyclists
and done her best to belittle the mets/tfls campaign for safer cycling.

Its hard enough cycling in London without morons like her stirring up anti-cycling hysteria. Shoe should be ashamed of herself

    Absolute idiot

  • the cyclist sounds to have swerved in front of the lorry while ridding with headphones.

Seemed to be simple surmise that he was wearing headphones. In any event, a lorry or other vehicle coming from behind should be on the look out ofr a cyclist in front particularly where that lorry has, by his own admission, already seen the cyclist.

  • Agreed, surely lorry driver has duty of care?

  • Overtaking people on a roundabout is moronic.

  • You're not FUCKING ALLOWED to over take on a roundabout! End of story.

  • Jo Good trained as an actress and appeared in Central Television's Crossroads for a number of years playing Carol Sands. She also played Rodney's date in the second ever episode of Only Fools and Horses.

Ooh, I remember her now. Del Boy and Rodney chat up two girls in a club by pretending that Rodney is a tennis player. When asked if Rodney prefers astroturf or grass, he replies "I dunno, I've never smoked astroturf".

    Classic TV.

He'd be sacked for that now...

  • That astroturf/grass joke was first uttered in the wider public arena by an American quarterback, I think. Joe Montana?

Like most of Del & Rodney's accoutrements, it was nicked.

  • Ok, her comments weren't great, but (in this case) the cyclist sounds to have swerved in front of the lorry while ridding with headphones..

How the fuck is that actually known as fact and not hearsay?

Perhaps the cyclist swerved to avoid a pothole or grate like the poor chap who died recently on Upper Thames?
