  • Yeah. There were some sketchy things about which stock was in the wet and which wasn't...

  • I saw that and managed to grab some stuff, but hmm sounds a bit bulls**t this "flood sale" - was looking on cranks, for example, and only the 165mm versions were on sale.. why the 172.5 and 170mm ones didn't get wet?!

They are just trying to get rid of the old stock...

Thats odd as the cranks I was looking at only had flooded 172.5 and 170's. Not that I wanted 165.

I only looked at a couple though.

  • something did happen during summer, as lots of stuff was delayed for a bit.

  • Chain Reaction are in Antrim N.I., and I remember seeing boats in the streets on the news a couple of months ago.

  • I'm sure there was a flood. I just think they may have been being selective over what was "damaged."

  • Got some of my stuff this morning. There are definite muddy water marks on my items. Although not on my Park Tools tire levers but they were only a quid (I don't need them, I just got them cause they're nicer than my decathlon ones).

Anyway all of the items (despite being a bit grubby) are in perfect working order. My pedals seem to spin as well as normal sealed bearing pedals - its not even worth cleaning the water marks off as they'll just get dirty the minute I use them.

  • Got my Shimano Ultegra headset, all good except no box, but £20 off the rrp.

  • Just ordered a pair of new risers since the easton30 ones I've got are to low. Bar will probably be filled with water with the luck I've had lately.

  • Received my nice shiny 50% off DA brake (no box) this morning. No rust, and they even left a few spots of river mud for me to wipe off.

  • On a side note, does anyone know how CR manages these ridiculously short delivery times from Northern Ireland when the rest of Royal Fail is usually like the snail mail?

  • Maybe they use the courier network built up by certain, ahem, political dissidents in the 1970s and 1980s?

    Oh a bit of politics...

    controversial

  • rofl, hael speaks like that!

  • Mike's Scottish, Dale.

  • Flood damage? I must have imagined that really hot dry summer.

  • some nice MTB overshoes in there, certainly look more classy than JS carrier bags with lacky bands holding them up......

  • mine got delivered yesterday and they were indeed flood damaged! the pedros pump as a wet/rust spot (only cosmetic) and the bars were clearly underwater at some point as the packaging was falling apart. perfectly functional and bargainous though!

    sweet.

  • The flood sale "bonanza" continues - according to an email from Chainreaction today.

I wish they would reply to my email about the seat post I paid for 10 days ago that has not arrived.

What else can you do when the phone line is permanently engaged?

  • i've used there e-mail system and they were quick to reply.

  • I'll email 'em again.

  • Just noticed these - 80 nicker:

FSA - RD-60. Supposing one had a rear track hub lying around, are these good value?
