Very very true, there are good reasons we separate the executive, the legislature and the judiciary.
Police chiefs seem keen to loosen this separation of powers, but they will just have to stick to what we pay them for.
Two groups I have a lot of trouble with when they (as un-elected groups) start - effectively - legislating, the church (go and fuck yourself) and the police force.
I feel better now.
