• yep. plus 1 dat shit.... my surly hmmm love it... Surlys are burly

• i dont have the bits for the build but i already have an otp bike
and i want something that ive built with my spec,
im not limiting to these two options its just i like iro bikes and i like the steamroller
my max budget for frame and forks would be around 300-350 if i can stretch
any other options?

• well i got an old cane creek headset which i used to have on the burly... originally on the surly which has gone a few few miles tbf still in good working order. you can have it for a beer... on the condition you put a chris king in it after.

• check here for forks too...

i had my eye on a few but thought they werent necessary at this moment in time, as my forks are fine.

ps these could be fun...

• what frame would you suggest for me if i didnt go for a surly ?
anyother ideas in the 250-350 range

• How about the Gorilla Hattra - it's £395 tho

• Do what I said! ;)

• Right! What he said

• another frame... what do you ride at the moment?

• haha i ride a giant bowery its not a good bike but its my first foray into fixed, i find it not what i really want
i want something more traditional and id rather build or "assemble" it myself

•
more traditional and id rather build or "assemble" it myself
well classifieds on here ... and ebay.

I regret even buying a puppy killer (front dropouts) so (in the words of cher) if i could turn back time... id go for a track frame with rear facing horizontals.

its a good thing about getting the bowery you got you geometry sussed now so take down the key measurements and keep your eyes peeled.

• yer the bowerys weird compared to usual frame sizing i think
i only got it because it was cheap enough for me to get up and riding
ive always got my eyes out on here like waiting to pounce haha

• What is it with Surly and their colour choices. Next year's one is the same colour as the washing machines it is made from. Not sure if it is better than "bloody Stool".

• I don't mind the cream colour - but I don't like that most of the silver components are now black. This seems to be a universal thing, though.Black everything. Glad to have bloody stool/silver!

• the colour choices are somewhat questionable

• unipac FTW!

• Different style, but you could get an On One Pompino frame for £155 - that's frame only, no fork

• With the Steamroller don't you need a long-reach front brake? This always put me off getting one - they seem to look clunkier and I can't re-use my 105 or Veloce caliper.

• i was looking at the pompino but it just isnt what i was after

• dont really like the geo on the sanchez, it just doesnt seem right to me

• Are you ignoring me! ;)

• nargh man i aint ignoring you haha

• Phew! Don't ya just love how everyone is keen to help tho! Forum Love. :)

• Dunc he called you a useless sack of shit

• I prefer Cunt, but Sack of Shit will do for now.
